B-17 “Flying Fortress” out of Dalhart Army Air Field dropped six 100-pound dummy bombs landed around the Cimarron County Courthouse square. The bombs left behind 4-foot-deep craters, fortunately no one was injured. This blend was accidentally discovered when a batch of Red Fern was over cooked.
